Vietnamese authorities ordered the Con Dau village, near the city of Da Nang, to be abandoned to build a resort on the site. When the people resisted water irrigation was shut off to the rice fields, cutting the main source of income and food. On May 4, 2010, Vietnamese police surrounded and attacked a funeral as it approached the cemetery. Police arrested and beat 62 persons including women that were stripped naked and beaten. One pregnant woman, Le Thi Van, was struck in her stomach until she had a miscarriage.

Search giant Google has expressed concern over new regulations that will allow the Vietnamese government to block access to websites and monitor the activity of Internet users. The decision, made at the end of April, affects commercial Internet access points in Hanoi city and could include cafes, hotels, restaurants and public transport terminals.

In April, local officials issued new regulations covering Internet cafes and service providers in Hanoi, ostensibly designed to crack down on hacking and other service abuses. Buried in the regulations is a mandate that service providers must add special software to their domain servers, used to authenticate systems on the network.

Nhưng hiển nhiên trong tình trạng quản chế hiện nay, Hòa thượng không thể rời nước.
